CloudNest paid off its addon investment in the first month

CloudNest's customer base skews heavily toward UPI payments, but their WHMCS setup only supported card-based gateways — pushing every transaction through processing fees that didn't need to apply.

By installing Custom QR Payment, CloudNest gave clients a UPI-native way to pay: scan a QR code, complete the payment in their banking app, and submit the reference number for admin verification. Combined with the Gateway Fees module, card payments now carry a small itemized surcharge that offsets processing costs, while UPI stays fee-free.

The result was a shift in payment mix — UPI adoption climbed quickly once it was the path of least resistance — and the module combination paid for itself well within the first billing cycle through reduced gateway fees alone.

Support tickets also became easier to resolve: the built-in admin verification queue gives support staff a single place to confirm and accept UPI payments, rather than cross-referencing bank statements manually.
