How HostNimbus relaunched its client portal in an afternoon

HostNimbus had outgrown its client area. The default WHMCS templates worked, but they didn't reflect a hosting brand that had scaled from a two-person side project to a team supporting thousands of accounts.

The team installed the Aurora client portal theme along with WHMCSHub Wallet and Rewards Points Manager, wiring up the full client area — overview, services, invoices, tickets and domains — in a single afternoon using Composer-based installation, without touching WHMCS core files.

Within the first month, support tickets related to "where do I find X" dropped sharply, since Aurora's card-based layout surfaces account status, renewals and open tickets right on the dashboard instead of requiring a client to hunt through menus.

The wallet feature also changed how repeat customers paid: clients began topping up their balance in bulk and spending it down on renewals and add-ons, reducing the number of individual card transactions and the associated gateway fees.
